Thought I'd share a process.



This was the initial design that I went with. I had several other designs planned out but this was the one I went with. During this stage he looked kind of guido-ish, very southern Italian, which is a problem because he is none of those things at all! His forehead and his mouth are looking weird as well too. I tried fixing the mouth and tweaking it but it wasn't working.



So I changed the colour of his skin to get rid of the tan look, he was meant to be pale, and I reworked his mouth a bit. His skin was too red, though, so I added in some purple to the mix. I also fixed up his forehead some because it was look weird. His eyes needed detail too.







But he lost the form in his face. So I tried to bring it out again. It's still looking a bit odd, but it sure looks a lot better from the first draft.

I seem to be getting the shapes right, it's just a matter of me figuring out how to do the proportions better. Oh well, getting better.

"Hell, it's about time!"

It's about time I got an art blog going. I'll probably throw up all my doodles, works in progress and other little things that I don't feel like uploading to other sites.

Should be fun.
